2023 apprenticeship scheme announcement
The Dawson & Sanderson team is excited to announce that planning for the 2023 apprenticeship scheme is well underway.
With a proposed September start, this scheme suits exam results release dates for school or college leavers which are usually announced in August and fits with the company’s busier booking period.
In this year's scheme, there will be 12 spots available for new apprentices to join teams in branches across the North of England from Doncaster to Newcastle to Carlisle. There will be 10 positions for Travel Sales Consultants and an additional 2 vacancies to be confirmed within our Marketing and IT departments.
Apprentices who join the company in these positions will be based in one of the many branches spread across the North of England where they will work alongside teams, gaining relevant knowledge and skills required to become a qualified travel consultant alongside studying for their qualification.
It has always been Dawson & Sanderson’s aim to offer full-time employment to apprentices once their qualifications are complete and the company has a number of long-serving staff members who started as apprentices as far back as 2011.
General Manager at the Newcastle branch, Julie Cloe, who is heavily involved in the apprenticeship scheme said, “We encourage a cycle of support in the company and when apprentices complete their qualifications we like them to be involved in the intake of new apprentices to share knowledge. In many instances, our apprentices become mentors within their branches, participating in training sessions and speaking about their experiences during the scheme.” To accompany these opportunities on offer, there are plans for exciting in-house training opportunities involving supplier partners, which in the past have included a visit to Newcastle Airport, Cruise ship visits, and weekend trips.
More information will come in the following months, including the official partner and qualification, as well as the entire application process.
