Agent Achievement Awards: We’ve been shortlisted!

Recognition for hard work and dedication is extremely important to our company and we like to ensure that our staff members feel valued in their role.

The team at Dawson & Sanderson are thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for four awards this year at the 2023 Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards in London.

This is one of the largest and most prestigious events in the travel industry and we are honoured to be attending and celebrating the industry's best agencies and agents!

The event will be packed with entertainment and awards in both supplier-voted and self-nominated categories to celebrate business excellence and the best small and large agencies across all regions in the UK.

We are taking the opportunity in this post to highlight the team members that have been shortlisted in their categories to showcase the talent here at Dawson & Sanderson.

Young Leisure Agent of the Year

Our nomination for the Young Leisure Agent of the Year is Tamzin Watson, a Travel Consultant from our Whitley Bay branch.

Tamzin joined us back in the summer of 2022 and since then she has excelled in her role and is booking holidays for both small and large groups and improving her customer service skills day by day.

Tamzin has been nominated for this award as she is a team player and always volunteers to share the workload, covering staff in various branches across the North East and helping customers in-store.

Since joining the team Tamzin has gone from strength to strength and is a true asset to the Whitley Bay branch.

Leisure Manager of the Year

Our nomination for Leisure Manager of the Year went to Amanda Allen, our Branch Manager in Sunderland who has recently been promoted to a Regional Manager position following a company restructure.

In her position as branch manager Amanda has handled a range of situations from addressing customer queries, to supporting customers who are still adapting to a post-pandemic way of travelling.

Not only has Amanda demonstrated her ability to tackle travel issues in a calm and professional manner, but she has equally shown consistent dedication to her customers and the local community over the last 12 months and beyond.

Amanda equally plays a significant role in the local and wider community organising Dawson & Sanderson events, fundraising, and collecting donations for local charities.

Amanda is a real asset to our company and her knowledge and experience mean she has always been on hand to ensure each customer's comfort and happiness when travelling for many years.

Agency Support Team Member of the Year

Our nomination for the Agency Support Team Member of the Year category is Julie Cloe, who has been a dedicated and valued member of the Dawson & Sanderson team for over 20 years.

Julie is in a central function role at our Head office in Newcastle and since joining this team has been responsible for the successful rollout of an apprenticeship scheme resulting in the company being presented the Apprenticeship Award at the prestigious North East Business Awards.

Day-to-day Julie’s role involves sourcing and implementing new communication platforms and telephone systems, identifying any training needs for staff across the entire business, and ensuring this training is provided.

Julie is an integral part of the team here at Dawson & Sanderson and works tirelessly to ensure deadlines are met no matter how big or small the project is.

Large Agency: Yorkshire, North Midlands, and North East England

Finally, Dawson & Sanderson has been nominated for the Large Agency of the Year in Yorkshire, North Midlands and North East England, which is a huge achievement for the company.

Our Managing Director, Annelene Hutton, said “I am so proud of the teams in our business and the high service levels we offer. We are all delighted to have been nominated and to achieve 4 shortlists is incredible. We are looking forward to a wonderful evening and I can’t wait for the results!”
